Should I Do a Detox Before Starting a New Diet Or Fitness Routine?

Should I Do a Detox Before Starting a New Diet Or Fitness Routine?

Jump Starter

The Master Cleanse has been around for over 50 years and it's worked successfully for many worldwide. It is one of the the cheapest and one of the most effective detox programs  around. Most people do the fast for just 10 days, however one can continue up to 40 days. The master cleanse recipe includes a mixture of grade B maple syrup (this is extremely important), water, lemon juice and cayenne pepper.

It is always a good idea to do a body detox or fast before starting any new fitness or diet program. What's great about the popular Lemonade Diet is that there are special provisions for diabetics also. Although the carbs are high from the grade B maple syrup, they are not stored as fat and one will lose weight unless one drinks over 6 glasses each day or adds more syrup than recommended to each glass. Whether you do the fast for a short period of time or a long period of time - you don't have to worry about missing nutrients, all the vitamins, minerals and amino acids are provided by the grade B maple syrup and by the lemons or limes. The cayenne pepper clears out the mucus that is loosened by the cleanse and also stimulates the circulation. The combination of the lemon, maple syrup and cayenne pepper act as both a cleanser and a body builder.

Although it should be obvious, when participating in any fast or body detox - it's important that you stick with it - that means no eating and no food!  You drink your 6 - 12 glasses of lemonade, a cup of hot herbal laxative tea in the evening and morning, drink your usual 8-10 glasses of water each day. There is also a salt water flush each morning, which is optional. The point is to detoxify your body completely.

After thoroughly cleansing your body - you will likely feel like a brand new person. You will have increased energy, better mental clarity and an overall feeling of better health. However - there are some things that you will need to be aware of when ending your master cleanse. There are rules for coming off this fast. The day after the fast, you drink nothing but orange juice - no food, nothing else, just all the orange juice you can drink. The next day, you can have broth (and juice if you want), all liquids. The third day you can eat solids again. It is recommended that you start off slowly though, with raw food veggies like salads and fruit. This is the healthy way to come off of this particular fast.

As you can see, a body detox program is a great way to give jump start your new fitness regimen. You're giving your body a healthy advantage by starting with a clean slate so to speak. If you're feeling sluggish before beginning your new exercise program - then the likelihood of you completing it will decrease.

10 Creative Article Topics

10 Creative Article Topics

Jump Starter

Sometimes you just need a jump start in the creativity department when coming up with article topics.

We all get stumped for ideas sometimes, and it's extremely helpful to have a list of "idea starters" to help get our creative juices flowing so that we can think up our next batch of article topics.

Here are 10 article topics to help boost your creativity:

1 - Use title templates to jump start your creativity. Here are some I use:

Top 10 [your topic] Tips

7 Reason To Do [your topic]

Top 10 [your topic] Mistakes

How To [your topic]

Reader questions: "How Do I ____?" or "What is ____?"

2 - Create a "Beginner's Guide" article where you introduce an absolute beginner from your target market to your topic.

3 - Write a "Top Mistakes" article.

What mistakes do you notice folks in your target market engaging in routinely? A 'Top Mistakes' article warns your readers what NOT to do and also provides corrections to the mistakes.

4 - Use the same article topic, but write two articles; one for a beginner and another for an expert.

Although on the same topic, these two articles will be very different and include different material. Beginners need extra details on how to get started. Experts want tips on how to take their performance to the next level.

5 - Customer FAQs.

If it's a question that customers or potential customers are commonly asking, then it is worthy of being made into an article. You might want to put the title in question form, so that the entire purpose of the article is answering the frequently asked question.

6 - Magazine headlines.

Find a magazine that is in your niche or in a related niche. Look at the article headlines on the front of the magazine. Those titles are there to stimulate interest in a reader and make them want to read the articles. Can you adapt those titles to suit your specific topic?

7 - Bounce articles off of your blog posts.

My blog is my biggest gold mine of article topics. I routinely write blog posts, and then the next month I rework each blog post to be suitable as an article. It's like killing two birds with one stone! Just be sure that when you do this that you rewrite the article so that it is different from your blog post. You want to keep the content on your own site unique for SEO reasons.

8 - Take your last 7 previous articles and dig deeper.

Look each of your last 7 articles--there is a way (often several ways) that you can approach the same topic from a different angle and provide more in depth information. This would be like zooming into a specific aspect of your article and magnifying it in a new article.

9 - Give an aerial view of your topic.

You can also do the opposite of "digging deeper"--make some articles that are broad overviews of your topic. Instead of giving really detailed info, give a wide range of information on your topic that is not as deep. Whatever your article topic is, you can either go much more in depth (and in that case you would be covering a smaller topic more in depth), or you can cover a broader topic more superficially. Each of these types of articles has value to a reader.

10 - Look through your website for helpful info about your topic that you can morph into an article.

You took a long time creating the content on your website, didn't you? Why not adapt that info to your articles? Just be careful that the info from your website is not about your own business or products. The type of website content that would be perfect for a free reprint article is educational material about your general topic.

You have more article topics under your nose than you realize! Explore these 10 creative article topics and see how many new article ideas you can generate.

Amazing Skateboarding Records

Amazing Skateboarding Records

Jump Starter

Skateboarding is an amazing sport, and one that not all of use are able to do. Even those that have been skating for quite some time may find it hard to do complicated moves. Therefore it is important to give some recognition for those amazing skateboarding records out there. While other people will continue to strive to beat them, the bar has been set quite high.

Rob Thomson took 2 1/2 years to skateboard and it took him 850 days. He holds the record for the longest journey taken on a skateboard. This is approximately 7,500 miles that he covered along this incredible journey. He completely worn out three pairs of shoes, plenty of skating wheels, and two decks by the time he was finished as well.

Ted McDonald wanted to get a record for his skateboarding trip too, but he didn't have the same amount of time to put in. He skated though for 24 hours and completed 242 miles barefoot. At least he didn't go through multiple pairs of shoes like Thomson did right?

There are a couple of individuals out there that also hold multiple records. Danny Way has a few of them that are definitely worth mentioning here. First, he successfully accomplished jumping the Great Wall of China, a feat that no one had done before on just a skateboard. Second, he holds the record for the longest jump ever, and at 79 feet it is going to be very hard for someone to take over this title.

Rob Dyrdek holds more than 20 skateboarding records according to the Guinness Book of World Records. Most of them he was able to accomplish in 2007 when the Guinness Book of World Records held such a competition. Some of the events he is the top dog for include the longest 50/50 rail grind at a distance of 100 feet, 215 ollies in a row without stopping, and the highest skateboarding jump into water using a ramp which he set with 10 feet and 8 inches.

The highest ollie recorded and verified is at 44 ½ inches by Danny Wainwright. There have been videos out there circulating of other people doing ollies that could be up to 50 inches. However, they haven't been verified and so they don't get the credit some feel they deserve.

For more than a decade Gary Hardwick has been able to maintain the record he set for the fastest speed. He reached 63 miles per hour in 1998 while racing in Arizona. There is a separate record for doing the same thing with a jet pack on. This goes to Billy Copeland and he was able to reach a speed of 70 miles per hour this way.

Perhaps the one really well known record out there is by Tony Hawk. He made history in 1999 at the X Games performing what he referred to as the 900. Basically this is a complete 300 rotation three times in a row. That is an extremely difficult trick to accomplish. There are still only a handful of professionals out there that have mastered it well enough to use it in their performances.

It is important to note that all of the amazing skateboarding records out there have been verified. Other people claim that they have done better in certain tasks, but their information wasn't able to be verified. Therefore the current records will stand as they are. If you think you have what it takes to break a given skateboarding record, make sure you find out the right procedures for having your efforts recorded. That way you too can get yourself the recognition you deserve for this sport.

Plyometric Exercises - Volleyball Workout Drills

Plyometric Exercises - Volleyball Workout Drills

Jump Starter

Plyometric exercises for volleyball are the best thing that you can do to ensure your place on any team, be it high school, college or professional. Are you sick of not being picked to be on the volleyball team of your choice? Any coach would love to have a player that has a good vertical leap. If you can jump high, you can be a starter on any volleyball team. Most people spend all of their time practicing all of the skills that you usually do in volleyball workout drills. But then they don't set apart any time to focus on jump training when that is what wins games. I'm not saying that you don't need any of the other skills, I am simply saying that you could have the best ball control of any other person but if you can't jump high, you will not make the team.

Volleyball Workout Drills:
Box Jumps- With no rest between reps.

Sprints- Very short distances (the length of the court)

Squats- Low reps with a lot of speed. So how do you learn to jump higher for volleyball? With plyometric exercises! You have to train with plyometric workouts to increase your vertical jump. Not everyone will be able to jump the same but everybody can increase their vertical leap with simple workouts. You just have to train for jumping as hard as you train for any other skill for volleyball. Just playing volleyball everyday does not constitute jump training. You have to follow set workouts that are designed to make you jump higher. This means that you will might have to stop playing so much volleyball to get better at it.

What Are You Passionate About?

What Are You Passionate About?

Jump Starter

Today's world is more focused on the fast paced style that we have set for ourselves than the dreams and hopes that once fueled our aspirations. We get so very caught up in our responsibilities that the obligations and expectations of our lives makes for a more important goals than our true passions. Many people feel that if they focus on themselves they are being selfish and cutting the attention to the other aspects of their lives that they have deemed more important, thus leaving room for those inner most desires lacking.

There are several self-help articles about how to make one happier and more fulfilled. But it all starts with realizing your true passion. What motivates you? What makes you smile? Or even, when you were a child what did you want to be when you grew up?

The first step to finding happiness is realizing what it is that makes you want to get up and start moving in the morning. Those aspects of life that leave you whistling are the ones that hold the key to the passions of life.

As we grow up and grow older, we often take the more traveled road to adulthood. We attend college and achieve degree status in order to obtain a "real" job. This conformation to societal ideals about living often leave the passions that once gave us fire and hope dead in the water. Women give up their dreams to raise children, men leave the their true callings behind for fear of not being what their families would hope they would become. When we leave our passions behind, who are we really becoming and is that person the true person we always wanted to be?

Rediscovering your passion may actually be harder than you think it should be. After lying stale in our minds for so long, those small things that once drove us often become alien in nature and need to be rekindled and reworked in order to find a place in our every day lives. The best path is to revert to your youth. Think back to what things made you most happy. Remember the passions that made you smile and the hobbies that once held such a high importance in your life and make room for those passions again.

Once you discover your passion, pursue it! For some, it may be scary to step outside of the norm and onto a path less traveled. But personal growth only happens when we extend ourselves beyond our usual boundaries. You don't have to neglect your responsibilities to pursue your passion. It may simply be to take an art class at a local community center or you may find that you wish to switch careers and become a graphic designer. Determine what you are passionate about and then find ways to embrace it.

There is no amount of money in the world that can measure up to the payment your passion can provide. While the payment may not increase your checkbook or give you that promotion at work, it will give you back a sense of yourself that has been lost for a very long time.

Stop right now and think about those things that made youth so wonderful. If only for a moment, take a step back 10, 20, 30, 50 years and find that one thing that drove your mind to the limits of happiness. Once you have that thought firmly in your grasp, go for it!

Getting Started in Photography - 10 Steps to Jump-Start Your Photography Business

Getting Started in Photography - 10 Steps to Jump-Start Your Photography Business

Jump Starter

Here are ten key steps to start and grow a profitable, debt-free photography business.

1. Practice!  Keep a camera with you all of the time.  Study other photographers and try to emulate images that you love.  Spend time learning basic and advanced image editing.  Learn your camera in and out, and practice with settings and modes that you don't normally use.  Take advantage of free and low cost photography blogs and web sites.  Consider joining PPA, WPPI, SEP or a local photography group or club.  Make a list of 50 things you want to do with your photography and try to cross of one item each week.

2. Define Your Business. Create a business name and get some cards printed up.  You can get several hundred cards for under .  Do your web research to make sure you aren't choosing a name that is already used.

3. Define Your Finances. Get a separate business checking account.  You will want to completely separate your business financial activities from your personal finances.  Get online banking so you can check your balances.  Keep a spreadsheet at home or use a program like Quicken to track and record your expenses.

4. Get online.  Hosting a website is not expensive.  You can purchase great photography web templates for under 0.  Create and feed a blog.  Get on Facebook and create a business page.  Search for and join web-based business locators like Merchant Circle and Google Local Listings.  Create coupons and special offers to draw in customers.

5. Define your target market, both geographically and demographically.  What kind of work do you want to be known for?  Seniors?  Weddings? Landscape?  What other work would you take?  Draw three columns on a sheet of paper.  In the first, note the kind of work you would love to do; in the second, what you would be OK doing, and in the third, what you would rather not do.  It will help you formulate your mission and marketing messages.

6. Set Your Prices. Define your value proposition to your customers.  You can't give work away, or undercut everyone, or you'll go out of business.  If you factor in your time and the cost of everything to keep your business running once you get established, you will understand why prints cost what they do from other professionals.  Benchmark your competition and understand their pricing and offerings.  It's better to be in their range but not highest or lowest as you are getting started.  If you price cheap, people will undervalue your contributions and as you grow it will be harder to command the prices you need to be profitable.  It's OK and expected to change pricing.

7. Spread the word.  Read "Guerilla Marketing" books by Jay Levinson, and "Purple Cow" by Seth Godin.  Blog like crazy.  Study "Search Engine Optimization" to make your web's page rank higher.  Look for ways to generate publicity.  Approach family, friends, co-workers and people in church for special "starter" sessions.  Offer your customers rewards for referrals.

8. Develop Partnerships.  Create cooperative relationships with local businesses, nonprofits, schools, churches and other organizations.  Become their "go-to" person for event photography and promotional photography.  Donate sessions, products and gift certificates to fund-raising auctions and galas.  Get to know the leaders in your community and find ways to make them successful and visible through your work.

9. Grow your business debt-free.  Create a list of the hardware, software and purchased services that you would like to have.  Price them out and rank them in order of your need.  Only buy them when your business bank account allows it.  Make sure you have reserves in the account to cover samples, upcoming fees and taxes and insurance.  If you devote a high percentage of your first few years profits into growing your business assets, you will be able to stay debt-free and keep the business growing, while still taking some profit each year.

10. Pay your Bills.  Make sure you collect and pay sales and use tax.  Retain and pay quarterly federal and state taxes if appropriate.  Have the right amount of liability insurance.  Keep good records of mileage, supplies, prints, office expenses, education, advertising and any other expense category that would count as business expenses.

What about equipment?  Of course you will need a camera and other equipment, but don't assume you need to run out and get the latest and greatest SLR and lighting systems.  Start small, with your current camera or an older model picked up off of Craigslist or other used gear source.  Add some inexpensive reflectors and/or home-grown lights to start with.  As you earn money, you can work your way through your list, and you'll appreciate every new piece of gear even more.  The same goes for software.  Free, open source image-editing software such as The GIMP is a great way to get started.  Corel's Paint Shop Pro is also excellent and very reasonably priced.  And you don't need a printer, other than to print normal business correspondence.  Hook up with a good local or national professional lab and you can get great prints and great support.  One idea I have found useful is to put your wish list on Amazon, and drop some hints around the holidays and other occasions.  Your family will appreciate knowing that what they buy you will be put to good use!

There you go!  By following these ten steps, you can take your vision of being a pro photographer and make it a reality!  What are you waiting for?

Opening a Daycare Center - Do Your Homework!

Opening a Daycare Center - Do Your Homework!

Jump Starter

Maybe you've already decided that starting a daycare center is for you, or maybe you're simply considering the idea. As with all entrepreneurial ideas, it's best to do your homework and research them thoroughly before jumping in midstream.

Starting a daycare and making a success of it will require certain very specific strengths in your situation and character and that of anyone who helps you work it. Consider these essential traits:

-Do you like kids?

-Are you a people person?

-Can you start a daycare center and run it for a year without a profit?

-Do you have childcare experience?

-Are you a self-starter, responsible and reliable?

-Are you willing to put in long hours, at least at first?

-Can you lead well?

If your answers were positive, read on. Otherwise starting a daycare center may not be for you.

For starters, check out the licensing requirements in your state. Then go take a look at some successful daycare centers and try to talk to the owner or manager. Don't be afraid to tell them that you're thinking of starting a daycare facility and ask them for any tips on how to make a go of it.

While you're visiting the other daycare, notice their setup. How is the place laid out? What kind of furniture and supplies do they have? Ask them how hard it was for them to start a daycare center. Ask to see the contract they use. If they're reluctant, offer to buy them lunch! If they say they don't have time, offer to hand them the money you would have spent on the lunch. Usually, though, successful business people are happy to share tips.

Gather your information first. If you do a good job on this first, crucial step, you will be rewarded when you're ready to start a daycare.

Arowana Tank - Tips For Setting Up Your Tank

Arowana Tank - Tips For Setting Up Your Tank

Jump Starter

To many aquarium hobbyists, setting up an arowana tank may appear to be a confusing procedure that requires a lot of work and equipment. In reality, it is a lot simpler. There are five major items in the checklist for preparing an arowana tank that you need to know. The moment you have everything in this list prepared, you can start to arrange for the transportation of your arowana back into the tank. It usually takes a few days for the water in your new fish tank to cycled properly.

Arowanas are probably one of the largest fishes you would find in a home aquarium. Some of them can even grow up to a meter long. The most popular length for an arowana tank is four feet. This helps to make sure that the arowana has sufficient space to grow. Smaller tanks also restrict the rate of growth of an arowana which is why very rarely will you find people using anything less than four feet tanks.

The next item you have to decide on is the color of your tank's background. You will usually find hobbyists using dark colors like black for red arowanas and colors like blue or white for golden arowanas.

When you set up your fish tank, also make sure that it is resting on a cabinet that props the tank up to eye level. Arowanas are beautiful fishes and one of the reasons why so many people love them at home is because they are majestic fishes at adds to the aesthetics of any home. For your tank, also make sure that you have a cover on top of it at all times. This helps to prevent your fish from jumping out of the arowana tank.

Make sure you have an air pump for your fish as well. Whether it is a submersible pump or an external pump, set it up properly before introducing your arowana.

Jumping Off Dead Battery In The Repo 2001 Chrysler Town and Country Limited Video Clips.

Battery went dead in the Repo town and country van while I was reconditioning it so I had to jump it off and let it run for a while. I'm starting to like making these battery videos too, let me know what you all think if you would like to see more stuff like this! Enjoy :)

Conversation Starters and Techniques

Conversation Starters and Techniques

Jump Starter

Conversation starters are not much good unless you understand the techniques for becoming a good conversationalist. But, with the right frame of mind and a commitment to practice, learning how to make good conversation can be both fun and easy.

Research shows that developing good communication skills is far more important than getting good grades in school. According to a study at the Stanford University School of Business, the most successful graduates were not the ones with the highest grade point averages. They were the ones most comfortable having friendly conversations with others, particularly strangers.

When you start a conversation with someone you don't know, it helps to realize that they're probably feeling just as awkward and tongue-tied as you are. And, if they're not, then they'll more than likely have the good manners to be gracious. So, have some fun, jump right in and be the first to speak. You have much to gain and little to lose.

To break the ice, you could make a positive remark about the room, the food, the guest of honor or notice something positive about what the other person is doing, wearing or saying. Then you might offer a sincere compliment. Be friendly, upbeat and enthusiastic. Be willing to chat about the weather, sports, movies, pets or children. The point is to make the other person feel like you've been waiting all week to meet them.

Once you've broken the ice, follow up with closed-end questions. Are you...? Do you...? Who? Where? Which? Then continue with more open-ended questions. What do you think...? How...? What...? or Why...?

You'll know what to say next by listening carefully for information the other person is sharing with you - facts, feelings and opinions. Your job is to respond with sincere interest. But be sure to always avoid topics of politics or religion. (You can change the subject, if necessary.) And, naturally, you would never want to argue about anything, even if you disagree.

When it feels right, be willing to share positive, upbeat personal information, but don't talk too much about yourself. Stay focused on finding out about and getting to know the other person. The bottom line is, if you want people to find you interesting, all you have to do is genuinely express an interest in them. If you do, they might even leave the conversation thinking you're one of the most fascinating people they ever met. Wouldn't that be nice?

Pay special attention to noticing when the other person is ready to move on and always end every exchange gracefully on a positive note. Use their name, pay a sincere compliment when possible and always offer a smile or your hand in friendship - "It was so nice talking with you, John. I look forward to seeing you again sometime." Then say a peasant goodbye.

To be a good conversationalist, just follow these simple guidelines and practice. After all, developing good communication skills could possibly get you further than an M.B.A. from Stanford. With practice, you can turn each conversation into a pleasant experience and maybe even an opportunity - the possibilities are unlimited!
